In Flushing, NY, heavy rain get the most of basements and flooding is a major problem.  Howard G.’s Flushing home faced basement flooding many times after copious amounts of rain.  He searched online for a certified basement waterproofing company and found that Quality 1st Basement Systems offers free estimates.

Sales rep. To assess the situation, Rick Ludlow came out to Anthony’s Astoria home and gave him a free estimate.  He recommended the installation of a TripleSafe sump pump and the WaterGuard interior basement waterproofing system.  The TripleSafe is a patented, top of the line sump pump that is designed to turn on or off depending on the amount of water entering the system.  The WaterGuard basement waterproofing system is specially designed to effectively keep water from pooling where the basement wall and floor meet.  Additionally, it sits on top of the footing and out of the soil so that dirt and debris won’t clog it.  This ensures quality basement waterproofing at all times!

Crawl Space Insulated in Maspeth, Queens

Eileen S. was spending too much money on her heating bills every month for her Maspeth, Queens home. Her crawl space didn't have any insulation and was drafty. Worse, the floor in her porch was sinking. She called Quality 1st Basement Systems for a free estimate on how to fix her porch floor and save money on her heating bills.

Crawl space specialist Nick Biris found that the porch floor was sinking because the crawl space beams below were sagging. He suggested waterproof insulation and SmartJack support beams for the crawl space. Foreman Jesus and his team installed CleanSpace vapor barrier in the crawl space to keep moisture out. In order to save Eileen money, they installed SilverGlo crawl space insulation. SilverGlo crawl space insulation uses graphite to reflect heat and keep warmth in. Then they installed SmartJack galvanized steel beams to support the sagging crawl space beams and push them back into place. Now Eileen is saving money on her heating bills and her porch floor is no longer sinking!

Warm Basement Flooring in East Elmhurst, Queens NY

Cheryl W. always had water coming into her East Elmhurst finished basemnet, but she thought nothing of it. Her basement floor was always cold and damp, and the space was uncomfortable. Her family was concerned and recommended she call Quality 1st Basement Systems for a free estimate on basement waterproofing. Basement specialist Kenny Tramutola came out to Cheryl's home and found signs of water damage on the basement floor. He suggested an internal basement drain, a sump pump, and waterproof basement flooring to keep the room dry and safe.

Quality 1st Basement Systems installed a WaterGuard basement drain. The WaterGuard is an internal drainage system that will not clog with outdoor mud, dirt, tree roots and other debris. After installation, it is covered with a layer of concrete to hide it from view. Cheryl loved the WaterGuard because it was invisible after installation. Then, the team installed an UltraSump sump pump so that the water could be pumped safely out of the home. The UltraSump sump pump is quiet but has a heavy duty motor and an airtight seal to keep out odors.

To replace the water damaged floors, Quality 1st Basement Systems installed ThermalDry waterproof flooring. ThermalDry basement flooring is made out of 100% waterproof materials. The tiling system makes installation easy, and cleaning is a breeze. Each piece can be removed to be wiped down or replaced. ThermalDry is raised from the cold concrete floor, keeping it up to ten degrees warmer. Now this basement is warm and inviting! The area is dry and the flooring looks amazing.

Wet Basement Fixed in Springfield Gardens, Queens NY

After heavy rains, this Springfield Gardens, Queens basement got up to four inches of water. The walls showed signs of water damage and the drywall was growing mold. Concerned about the mold growth, the homeowner called Quality 1st Basement Systems to inspect the property and fix it, fast!

Home inspector John Schweitzer suggested a new sump pump and waterproof basement walls to keep the basement safe and clean. Victor and his installation team installed a TripleSafe sump pump to keep water moving out of the basement. The TripleSafe has three pumps, a battery back up, and an alarm system to keep the home safe. They removed the damaged lower half of the basement walls and installed EverLast basement wall panels. EverLast basement wall panels are made out of waterproof, inorganic materials. Wood and drywall will rot and attract mold, but EverLast will never grow mold or mildew. The homeowner loves the bright look of EverLast! This basement no longer gets wet after rainstorms, and stays safe with the TripleSafe and EverLast basement wall panels.

Basement Crack Fixed in Cambria Heights, Queens

A homeowner in Cambria Heights, Queens, NY had a crack about a half inch wide running diagonally across the basement wall. During heavy rains, water came in through the crack and ran down the basement walls. Much to the homeowner's dismay, roots were starting to grow through the crack and mud was seeping in. After looking for a company to fix the problem, they called Quality 1st Basement Systems to waterproof and fix the crack.

Quality 1st Basement Systems installed Flexispan basement wall crack repair on the large crack. Unlike mortar-based fixed, Flexispan cannot crack. The application was smooth and easy, and once installed the leaking stop. Some moisture was on the basement wall, so the installation team added BrightWall basement wall covering. BrightWall is 100% waterproof and keeps moisture from coming through the basement walls. Now the leaking has stopped, roots are no longer coming through, and the work was all done in just one day!

4 Inch Sunken Slab Creates Tripping Hazard in Jackson Heights, NY

Sam, living in Jackson Heights, NY contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems after one of her small children tripped on their concrete patio in their backyard. Horrified that this type of accident could happen again, she wanted to get an expert over right away to solve the problem. Jeff Nero, a System Design Specialist from Quality 1st, drove out to Jackson heights , measure the sinking slab, and determined whether or not the team could raise it. Jeff measured the slab at about 4 inches of settlement which can be a big trip hazard for small children. Luckily, there was no tree roots causing the surrounded slabs to raise, therefore Polylevel Injection Foam would do just the trick.

PolyLevel Foreman, Arturo Jacuinde and his crew, drilled small penny size holes in the concrete slab. Next, they injected the PolyLevel foam underneath the slab which expands and hardens raising the slab back to desired level. PolyLevel is more cost efficient and causes no disturbance to the environment around it since anyone can walk on the slab within 15 minutes after job completion. Instead of removing and replacing the entire patio area, PolyLevel quickly and safely lifts the slab back to level.

Sam was amazed at how fast and easy the entire processes was and was thankful the tripping hazard was removed. She appreciated how well the crew cleaned up after they were finished and was happy her children were  able to play in her backyard again. Sam became a satisfied customer and now tells all her friends about Quality 1st Basement Systems.
